Assia Ahhatt released an album in collaboration with 17-times Grammy winner
The Ukraine-born star of world's instrumental and pop music Assia Ahhatt escaped from the radars of world's media for quite a while. Her fans started questioning - where did the violinist and composer, who until recently captured the air of radio stations and TV channels throughout the world, disappeared? The answer was given by the Assia herself in an exclusive interview to the ZhVL TV program.

It turns out that all this time she was successfully conquering U.S. market. Assia was touring with legendary jazz trumpeter Chris Botti, performed with Kurt Elling, Eric Serra, took private vocal lessons from world's leading voice coach Seth Rigs.

Assia's first single, released at the U.S. market, 'If Only Tonight', immediately hit leading positions in several U.S. Billboard charts. 'All-In'- violinist's instrumental album, produced by 17-times Grammy winner Humberto Gatica in 2018, was submitted in 8 Grammy categories.

It would seem that quarantine could hit the artist's creative fervor, but it turned out the other way around. During the lockdown, Assia found her inspiration and recorded a new album A Date at The Movies, consisted of 10 orchestrated instrumental compositions. The album was recorded in Ukraine and U.S.

"I wanted to revive the emotions experienced on my first dates. When my boyfriend and I went to the movie, we sat in the last row and I enjoyed teenage thrill when he accidentally was touching my hand. Watching these films and listening songs, you can again feel strongest feelings that have lived in us since those times. I hope that the album will be appreciated by both listeners as well as music professionals", said Assia.

According to the artist, idea of the album came to her during the quarantine. While at home, she began to revisit classics of world's cinematography. At this time, she was overwhelmed by emotions and memories of how they watched all these films as a child with their parents and on their first dates.

"In March 2020, I was watching movies from the 50s and 60s, and loved their amazing soundtracks. That was exactly the music which brings unconditional love into our souls. I told myself: 'it would be great to give these songs a new sound performed by a violin and accompanied by the orchestra'.

'A Date at The Movies' includes classic soundtracks from the cult movies of the Golden Era of Hollywood. Among them are 'Can't Help Falling in Love' by Elvis Presley and 'Raindrops Keep Fallin' On my Head' by BJ Thomas. There are also ballads on which an entire generation grew up, for example, 'My Heart Will Go On' from Titanic and 'Hallelujah' from 'Shrek'. Assia turned to the latest Oscar-winner hit – 'Shallow', which Lady Gaga wrote for 'A Star Is Born'.

Legendary Humberto Gatica is one of the album's producers. It was in his studio that Michael Jackson's world-famous hit 'Bad' was recorded, as well as many Celine Dion's ones, including 'My Heart Will Go On', also Grammy-winning Michael Bublé, Janet Jackson, Andrea Bocelli, Tony Bennett and many other albums.

On the Ukrainian side, album was produced by famous Ukrainian composer and music producer Yuriy Shepeta, who, among other wonderful works, wrote music for the ballet "The Great Gatsby".

Assia herself is the third co-producer of 'A Date at the Movies'.
